Hide Windows Notification Area & System Clock
To hide the notification area or the system tray which appears on the right side of your Windows taskbar, type gpedit.msc in the Start search box and hit Enter to open the Group Policy Editor. Navigate to User configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar. Now double click on the entry Hide the notification area Select Enabled button, click Apply > OK. You can also check out this freeware SysTray Hider which lets you do the same easily. Description: The notification area is located at the far right end of the task bar and includes the icons for current notifications and the system clock. If this setting is enabled, the user’s entire notification area, including the notification icons, is hidden. The taskbar displays only the Start button, taskbar buttons, custom toolbars (if any), and the system clock. If this setting is disabled or is not configured, the notification area is shown in the user’s taskbar. Note: Enabling this setting overrides the “Turn off notification area cleanup” setting, because if the notification area is hidden, there is no need to clean up the icons.
Hide Clock in Windows 11/10
To hide the System Clock, double click on the entry Remove the clock from the system notification area. Select Enabled button, click Apply > OK. To revert back to the default settings, you have to set it as Disabled or Not Configured.
