Fix Your PIN is not available, Code 0xd0000225 error on Windows 11/10
Logging into a Windows computer with a PIN is faster than using a password, that’s why users like this option. You may see Something went wrong and your PIN isn’t available (code:0xd0000225) because of an issue in the Windows security setting, malware infection, or corruption in the ACL, and NGC folder. Use the following solutions to fix this error. Let’s discuss these issues one by one. Since you are not able to log in with your PIN, log in with a password or any alternative login option, and follow the solutions mentioned to resolve the PIN-related issues. Else boot to the BIOS settings of your computer and see if the secure boot is enabled and the legacy boot disabled. This configuration may solve the issue immediately.
1] Change NGC Permissions
You have multiple options to lock or unlock your computer. You can use the fingerprint or PIN option to secure your computer and this special information will be stored in the NGC folder. The four-digit PIN is the simplest way to sign in to your Windows Computer but sometimes it may stop working and show you the said error. This issue can also come when you do not have permission over the Ngc folder. To resolve this issue, change the permission of the NGC folder.
Press the Windows + E keys, now, past the following path in the address bar to navigate it.
After entering the Microsoft folder, right-click on the NGC folder and select PropertiesClick on the Security tab and then click on the Advance tabIn Advanced Security Setting for NGC windows, click on the change option next to OwnerOn the Select User or Group window, type “Everyone” and click Ok.Finally, reboot your computer.
Hopefully, after giving the required permission, you will be able to log in via PIN.
2] Remove the old one and make a new login PIN
Next up, let us remove the old PIN and then create a new one. This will your computer to store the new PIN in its database. To do the same, follow the prescribed steps.

3] Reset Access Control Lists
The said error may occur due to the Access Control Lists. It has been seen that the problem often comes when the ACLs are corrupted in the NGC folder. To resolve this issue you may simply reset the Access Control Lists using the following steps.
Open the Start Menu and search for the Command Prompt. Right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.In the command prompt, paste the following command and press Enter key.
After completing, you have to add a new PIN.
Hopefully, after finishing this task the issue should no longer be there.
4] Delete Ngc Folder
If the issue still persists, then it may be possible that the problem occurs due to corruption in the NGC folder on your computer. In this scenario, to resolve this issue, delete the NGC folder. After deleting the NGC folder, the previous information related to users like fingerprint and PIN will be deleted. Now, you can configure the fresh PIN. To delete the NGC folder, first, you need to give adequate permission to the user. To do the same, scroll up and read the first solution. Once you have permission to delete the NGC folder, go to the following address in File Explorer. You can then add the new PIN. Once you configure a new PIN, the problem should no longer be there. 5] Reset your PC in Safe Mode
If nothing worked, or you are unable to login to your computer using a password, you can boot in Safe Mode and then reset your computer to default settings. To do the same, boot your computer to Safe Mode, go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC and then select Keep my files. This way your computer will reset without any inflicting any harm to your personal files. You can then configure your security and hopefully, the issue won’t persist this time. You must have an alternate sign-in option as every time resetting the computer to Safe Mode is not convenient. Finally, reboot your computer and check if the issue is resolved.
